Morale, Welfare and Recreation
MWR exists because the U.S. Military is committed to the well-being of the community of people who serve and stand ready to defend the nation.
MWR is a comprehensive network of support and leisure services designed to enhance the lives of soldiers (active, Reserve, and Guard), their families, civilian employees, military retirees and other eligible participants. Over 37,000 MWR employees worldwide strive to deliver the highest quality programs and services at each installation — from family, child and youth programs to recreation, sports, entertainment, travel and leisure activities.
Their mission is to serve the needs, interests and responsibilities of each individual in the Army community for as long as they are associated with the Army, no matter where they are.
MWR contributes to the Military’s strength and readiness by offering services that reduce stress, build skills and self-confidence and foster strong esprit de corps. MWR services also help the Military attract and retain talented people. MWR is proof of the Military’s commitment to caring for the people who serve and stand ready to defend the nation. Take a look at all MWR websites nationwide.

Walt Disney World, Orlando Florida
The Magic Kingdom is the Disney park of popular imagination, where Mickey mingles with the crowds – very much the park for kids, though at its high-tech best capable of thrilling even the most jaded of adults. Known for its giant, golfball-like geosphere, EPCOT Center is Disney’s celebration of science and technology; this sprawling area involves a lot of walking, and may bore young children. Disney-MGM Studios suits almost everyone: its special effects are enjoyable even if you’ve never seen the movies they’re based on. The newest of the four, Disney’s Animal Kingdom , brings all manner of African and Asian wildlife to the theme park setting, perhaps the lone entry that can be explored fairly quickly. Universal Studios & Islands of Adventure, Orlando FL
Universal Studios has drawn much attention, adding the hi-tech, special effects-laden Islands of Adventure and CityWalk , an earthier lure for nightlife dollars than Downtown Disney. Universal is also aspiring to full-fledged resort status with the Portofino Bay Hotel and plans for other accommodation. For access to all areas, park in the garage half a mile north of exits 29 and 30B off I-94. Check out the lowest rates on hotels near Universal.

AFRC – Armed Forces Recreation Centers
AFRC resorts are affordable Joint Service facilities operated by the U.S. Army Community and Family Support Center and located at ideal vacation destinations. AFRCs offer a full range of resort hotel opportunities for service members, their families, and other members of the Total Defense Force. AFRCs are self-supporting and funded by non-appropriated fund revenues generated internally from operations.
Revenues from AFRCs are continually reinvested to maintain and improve the physical plant while providing the greatest possible value for AFRC guests. Providing high-quality, affordable resort-style facilities at the AFRCs is commensurate with the Chief of Staff, Army’s philosophy that soldiers are entitled to the same quality of life as the citizens they are pledged to defend. The Army continues to promote strong family values by providing the AFRCs; a reflection of our strong commitment to improved quality of life. AFRC room rates are affordable and based on rank, pay grade, duty status, room size, and/or room location.
The AFRCs are centrally-managed, U.S. Army Community and Family Support Center-operated facilities with a mission to provide rest, relaxation, recreation, and sustainment for Army personnel, their families, and other members of the total Defense Force.
